Beginning T'ai Chi Chih - Level 1

Appropriate for all levels

T'ai Chi Chih is a series of 19 movements and 1 pose dedicated to activating, circulating, balancing and harmonizing the vital force energy that flows within us. All the movements are slow and gentle, making them accessible to anyone regardless of age or physical ability (as it can even be done seated down.) Benefits of regular practice include heightened energy, improved balance and flexibility, weight and blood pressure control, relaxation and stress relief, deepening awareness and creativity, longevity, serenity and peace of mind.

Beginner - Level 1

Appropriate for all levels

New to yoga or new again? This beginner class will help you learn and discover the fundamentals of yoga. We will focus on alignment and apply modifications so you can safely move in and out of postures.

Gentle - Level 1

Appropriate for all levels

Gentle Hatha is the perfect class for older adults, anyone working with limited mobility, anyone returning to practice after injury or illness, and anyone who just wants a softer, more gentle approach to their practice. Expect to be on the floor about 50% of the time and standing for the other half.

Mindful Movements - Level 1

Appropriate for all levels

In Mindful Movements, you can expect to begin in accessible variations of basic yoga poses and then given the opportunity to deepen the poses with more challenging variations. These classes will use props to achieve safe alignment and we will focus on techniques that help you gain flexibility, strength, and mindfulness.

Deep Stretch - Level 1

Appropriate for all levels

A practice of gentle movements and passive postures that integrate awareness into a sense of steadiness and alignment. Deep Stretch will help release fascia, improve joint mobility, and provide a sense of relaxation to body and mind.

Slow Flow - Level 1, 2

Appropriate if you have some yoga experience and if you are currently physically active

A peaceful, stretchy, alignment focused flow to quiet the mind and rebalance the body. This is a fundamental yet challenging class that focuses on asana (postures) and pranayama (breath work).

Hatha - Level 1, 2

Appropriate if you have some yoga experience and if you are currently physically active

There will be an emphasis on alignment and moving effectively through the body’s full range of motion with asana (postures). You can expect a “workshop” experience to explore a particular pose with options for modifications for more challenging and deeper variations. Breath work and meditation will be integrated into the practice, and each class will end in Savasana. This is a strong, slow practice.

Core Flow - Level 1, 2

Appropriate if you have some yoga experience and if you are currently physically active

This flow class will explore postures and sequences that strengthen the core stabilizing muscles. Although intermediate and advanced poses (with modifications) will occasionally be offered, the focus of this class is to emphasize core muscle activation through a strong and fluid blend of movements. Prepare to work! Prior yoga experience is recommended but not required.
